more about me
Hi!
My name is Meg and I’m an author living in Donegal, Ireland. I’ve had four books published and my goal is to publish many, many more.
My first book The Space Between won the Eilís Dillon Award at the 2018 Children’s Books Ireland Awards. The Deepest Breath won the Judge’s Special Prize at the 2020 Children’s Books Ireland Awards and was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. It is published in the USA by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and in France by Talents Haut and was adapted for the Stage by New York based theatre company Treehouse Shakers. Baby Teeth was a Kirkus Best YA Book of 2022 and was nominated for the 2023 Carnegie Medal.
I’m passionate about good representation, especially queer representation and mental health representation and I strive to fill the shelves with as much as possible. I’m also very passionate about poetry. All of my books have been novels-in-verse, it’s my favourite way to write and I love how accessible and expressive it is, you can really let your yourself and your imagination run free. So far all of my books have been for younger readers, from middle-grade to YA but I’m currently working on my first novel-in-verse for adults as well as a poetry collection, hopefully some day they’ll reach shelves too!
